My mind is full
of old suits and dirty underwear
the undone laundry of my life
I live in the squalor of my past
lovers saved in envelopes
worn shoes in plastic bags
old friends hung
like baggy pants on a line of clothes.
I don’t remember when they left
but I store their memory
in a cardboard box
labeled “A” to “Everyone.”
